PLNs

I like the idea of using blogs in the classroom, but using twitter is not something I am willing to try. With the number of celebrities who use twitter, one cannot be sure what the students would be exposed to.

  1. I also think there would probably be a better way to communicate ideas to students rather than twitter, but I do like the fact that as teachers, we can follow people who do similar things as us and that can give us good ideas.

  2. I agree, Catherine. I am not convinced that Twitter is "safe" for children to use. Maybe after I have more time with it, I will have more positive feelings towards Twitter.
Hope all is going well with you!

  3. Like Kirsten I think it would be better to use as an educator and follow experts in the field or what ever topic is being taught. I am also not an experienced "tweeter" so perhaps over time I would feel more comfortable using it, but as you mentioned, student monitoring would be challenging.

  4. I completely agree. I think Twitter is something that students shouldn't do in the classroom. Like you said, there is way too much inappropriate things. However, I do think it would be useful for teacher collaboration and sharing.
